How did you discover electricity?

Just think... Without living without electricity, we wouldn't be able to enjoy our everyday world from today
“The idea of electricity is really a great idea.” Electricity is present in our lives and makes it simple because it allows us to practice life in many ways.

Electricity is a form of energy that occurs in nature since the creation of the universe, so it was not "invented", however, it was discovered and understood the compositions and factors to form an electric current Learn more

Our curiosity comes with a question, who invented electricity and how was it discovered

Most people credit the great scientist Benjamin Franklin for exploring electricity, but his experiments only helped define the link between lightning and electricity, nothing more.

In fact, the fact that electricity was discovered is a bit more complicated, actually going back more than 2,000 years.

The history of electricity

Discovered more than 2000 years ago, from about 600 BC, the ancient Greek philosopher Thales of Miletus discovered that rubbing animal fur on amber stone caused an attractive force between these two elements. Then I conclude that it is actually electricity produced by friction.

In the mid-1700s, 580 BC, Benjamin Franklin became interested in electricity. Up until that time, scientists had mainly known and experimented with static electricity.
Benjamin Franklin came up with the idea that electricity had positive and negative elements and that electricity flowed through these elements. He believed that lightning was a form of this flowing electricity.

In 1752, Franklin conducted his famous paper experiment. In order to show that lightning is a form of flowing electricity, he flew a kite during a thunderstorm. Attach a metal key to the kite string to provide a path for conducting electricity.

As he thought, the electricity from the storm clouds transmitted to the kite and flowed down the string and gave him a shock.

But one controversial question is: Was Benjamin Franklin really the first person to discover electricity?
Maybe not? Because in the year around 1600 A.D., an English physicist named William Gilbert wrote a book on the attractive nature of amber and used the Latin word “Electricus” to describe it.

Several years later, inspired by the approach of "Thomas Brown" called "William Gilbert", he wrote many books, and in his books on physics. He came up with the word electricity to describe his investigations based on the work of William Gilbert.

Gilbert and Browne are credited with being the first scientists to use the term electricity.

The first man to discover a steady flow of electrical communication was Alessandro Volta.

From about 1800 century, an Italian physician named Luigi Galvani found that the leg of a frog arose when touching with two different kinds of metals, then he studied Volta observing the galvanic and concluded that there is some kind of electrical potential between two metals, which causes the electric current to flow through the leg frog and made it twitch, Volta found that, in the presence of electrical potential, an electric charge could flow through water resembling a metal wire flowing through a tube, and then used his observation to invent electric batteries.

Do you realize that different types of batteries, such as AAA batteries, transistor batteries, all of these have different voltages or electrical potentials?

We have allowed here on one of the properties of electricity as electric electricity. Following Alessandro Volta, AAA batteries have an electrical potential of 1.5 volts, transistor batteries have an electrical potential of 9 volts, and car batteries have an electrical potential of about 12 volts. After Alessandro Volta, many other scientists developed the theory of static and igneous charges and their connection to magnetism. Many of these scientists include Michael Faraday, who discovered that moving magnets are moved by electric charges.

Also Nikola Tesla, who investigated the unique consequences of backward and forward contact in metallic wires rather than just one direction.

Electricity discovery timeline:

There is no one word answer to “Who discovered electricity?” The discovery of electricity is a series of inventions after the other, and electricity was produced.

Lightning is the primary form of electricity, because it takes a great deal of effort to bring this energy into our daily lives.

Most people give credit to Benjamin Franklin for his well-known experiment in flying a kite during a thunderstorm, in which he discovered an electric bolt.

So here's a complete timeline and the most prominent names of scientists in the history of the discovery of electricity.

In 600 BC, the ancient Greek philosopher Thales of Miletus wrote about charging amber by rubbing it on animal fur and got the concept of static electricity.

In 1600, William Gilbert first used the word "electronic" for the Greek word "amber" and later translated it into the word "electricity" in English.
In 1660, Otto Von Guericke developed a machine that produced static electricity.

In 1675, Robert Boyle noticed that there is an electric force of attraction and cleaning that is transmitted through a vacuum.

In 1729, Stephen Gray's discovery of the supply of electricity introduced a new dimension to the idea of electricity.

In 1733, when Charles François Du Fay found that electricity has two forms. He described them as resinous (-) and vitreous (+). Later negative and positive were renamed by Benjamin Franklin and Besenzer Kinzerley.

On June 15, 1752, Benjamin Franklin reinforced his theory, by experimenting with a kite flying during lightning. In recognition of his work with electricity, Franklin was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society and honored with the Copley Medal in 1753.
Girolamo Cardano from Italy, and the first to talk about the distinctive electric and magnetic force through his writings.

Michael Faraday discovered that moving magnets
Inside the coil can generate electricity. Then after he builds his first electric motor. Later he also built a generator and transformer.
This becomes his valuable contribution to the electromagnetic field.

Alessandro Volta discovered that chemical reactions can be used to create a potential difference. The difference in electrical potentials can lead to the flow of electric current. The potential difference unit is named "Volt" in his honour.

Thomas Alva Edison made a huge contribution to harnessing electricity. He gets credit for discovering light bulbs

Nikola Tesla contributed to the design of the alternating current (AC) electricity supply system.

In the previous article, we talked about the history of electricity and when it was discovered, and mentioned the names of those who predicted electricity, and their mention of the benefit of billions of people from this great invention that has become in our world like oxygen for the existence of life.
